Professional RW of Caddo

About Us

The Professional Republican Women of Caddo organization was formed in 1989 by a small group of Republican women who could not attend an already established Shreveport club because of their professional work schedules. Our club has encouraged working Republican women throughout Caddo Parish to come together in the evenings to study political issues, to get involved in political activities and to support the community through public service. Since it was founded, the PRWC has grown to serve many women living in Bossier Parish and has a large number of associate members including women from other clubs in the area and Republican men. Political Activities: PRWC club members are strong supporters of Republican candidates at the local, state and national level. Members have worked in candidate offices, assisted in phone banks, addressed envelopes, written personal postcards and walked thousands of miles handing out pushcards and encouraging citizens to vote for our candidates. Our club has a solid commitment to assisting strong, conservative Republicans get elected to offices at every level of our government. Community Service: PRWC members have a tradition of supporting the local community through several ongoing volunteer activities. Ongoing projects supported by our club through volunteer time and/or donations include (though not limited to) the following: Magazines for VA Hospital Veterans, The Dictionary Project, American Naturalization Ceremony Flag Presentation and Refreshments, Operation Support Our Troops and a $500.00 Republican Woman Scholarship Award. In addition, our members support the local Republican Parish Executive Committee with a yearly donation and by working at their local office to answer the phone and receive visitors. Membership: Membership dues are currently $30.00 a year (January – December) for women who are registered Republican and are not already affiliated with another Republican Women’s Club. Included in this dues amount is membership in the in the LA and National Federations of Republican Women. Republican women who are members of another club and Republican men can be associate members for $15.00 a year. Members receive a monthly PRWC Newsletter and can participate in board activities and numerous political and community activities supported by the club. Monthly dinner meetings allow for a good meal, socialization and excellent speaker’s program. A casual Political Rally is held in July and local, state and national leaders are invited to mix, mingle and speak briefly to the crowd. Being a member of the PRWC provides Fun, Friendship, inFormation and a Future for our families and community.
